Our telecommunicators are the calm voice in the chaos. They answer every call with professionalism, compassion, and unwavering dedication, providing life-saving instructions and critical support to both the public and first responders in the field.

Every day, they handle emergencies, offer reassurance, and help bring order to the most difficult moments. Their work often goes unseen, but its impact is immeasurable.

To our telecommunicators: thank you for your commitment, your strength, and your service to our community. We are grateful for all that you do.

🔥 FIRE WEATHER ALERT THIS WEEKEND 🔥

Elevated fire danger conditions are expected this weekend due to drought, dry fuels, and wind. A small spark can lead to a rapidly spreading wildfire.

Here's how you can help keep our community safe:
✅ Do not burn without a burn permit; we will not issue permits where conditions are unsafe
✅ Avoid outdoor burning
✅ Don't park vehicles on dry grass
✅ Keep grills and fire pits away from structures
✅ Make sure ci******es are fully extinguished

If you see smoke or flames, call 911 immediately. Do not assume someone else has already reported it.

Introducing the Sullivan West VFD Priority Passage Toll Road. With Highway 93 construction causing one‑lane traffic and delays of up to 9 minutes, we’re proud to unveil our bold new solution: a toll road around the construction zone. Just turn at the traffic light! This route is a faster, more “direct,” and moderately adventurous road (some might even call it a trail) designed to get you to the other side in record time.

We want to be honest: while this road does offer “quicker passage,” the experience may be slightly less than silky smooth due to the detour across three acres of scenic grassland/cow pastures, 4 back yards, and a sketchy pallet bridge across the creek, made from reclaimed pallets found nearby. We estimate the bridge can support... most vehicles. "When winter comes back around, and we get some good snow, we're considering dog sled races on the trail," said a fire department representative.

Toll pricing is $5 for standard vehicles, or $99 for a year‑long FastPass.
The FastPass includes unlimited access, a commemorative sticker, and a laminated card proudly declaring: “I Survived the Sullivan West VFD Shortcut.”
