It has come to our attention that there are text messages being dispersed out stating licenses may be revoked/suspended if tickets are not paid. It appears they are coming from the Department of Safety.
THIS IS A SCAM!
Please do not respond or click on any links in regards to this. It should be deleted and reported as junk.
IF you have any questions regarding scams for traffic tickets, jury duty etc. PLEASE call 865-376-2390 or 865-376-5584 and we will verify that you do not need to take any action.

The General Sessions, Circuit and Juvenile courts will be closing at 1:00 PM on Thursday for mandatory training. Also, there has been several people calling about a scam that is going around saying you have missed jury duty and owe money. Please do not respond to this! We do not call people to tell them they owe money for missing jury duty this is a total scam and they have legitimate information like people’s names that work for the sheriffs department. It looks like they call from a legitimate line that is the sheriffs department. This IS A SCAM!!’ So plase do not respond! If you have any questions feel free to call our office at 865-376-2390.

As of right now the Roane County General Sessions, Juvenile, Circuit and Criminal Courts Offices will be open at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, February 3, 2026….HOWEVER there will be NO General Sessions Court going on this date except the inmate docket. If you have a case set on this date it will be set to a future date.

County Offices & Facilities Closed – Monday, February 2, 2026

The Roane County Courthouse and Roane County administrative offices and facilities will be closed to the public on Monday, February 2, 2026.

This closure includes:
• Roane County Courthouse
• Roane County Health Department
• Animal Shelter
• Building & Codes Office
• Roane County Parks
• Veterans Services
• Records & Archives
• Roane County Ag Extension Office

The Convenience Centers plan to be on a normal schedule as long as current conditions don’t worsen over night. Delayed openings or potential closures of our convenience centers will be determined by 8am on February 2, 2026. That information will be posted here and on the department page: Roane County TN Solid Waste & Recycling.

Update: As of right now, the courthouse and our offices will be open on Monday. If that changes this page will be updated.

Roane county juvenile custody court set for Monday, February 2, 2026 has been cancelled due to threat of inclement weather.

We will also be closing at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 for our employees to enjoy an extended break with family!

Roane County General Sessions, Juvenile, Circuit and Criminal Courts will be closing at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 10, 2025 to enjoy the holiday weekend. We will be closed on Monday, October 13,2025 and reopen on Tuesday, October 14, 2024 at 8:30 AM.

The General Sessions, Juvenile, and Circuit Court offices will be closing at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 and will reopen on Tuesday September 2, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. for our employees to enjoy the holiday weekend with their families. Happy Labor Day and hope everyone stays safe!

The Roane Co General Sessions, Circuit, Juvenile, and Criminal Courts will be on a 2 hour delay on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 due to potential threat of bad weather. We will open at 10:30 AM.
CHILD SUPPORT COURT with Magistrate Raby will be operating on this schedule-it is NOT cancelled at this time!
General Sessions court-civil and divorce/order of protection court- is cancelled.
We will post if we have to close for the day as soon as the decision is made in the AM on February 19.
