Willis-Powell Fire & Rescue remains committed to staying ahead of emerging tools and techniques. Our firefighters participated in a Hen Nozzles demonstration today to evaluate equipment that can support safer, more effective emergency response for our community. Thank you Gavin Blue member of the Hen Army for bringing the toys for us to play with.

🔥 HIGH FIRE DANGER TODAY 🔥

Due to strong winds and low humidity, fire conditions are extremely dangerous across our area. Please do not burn today — even a small fire can spread rapidly and get out of control in these conditions.

🚫 No outdoor burning
🚭 Dispose of ci******es properly
🚜 Avoid welding or using equipment near dry grass
🚒 Report any smoke or fire immediately by calling 911

Let’s work together to keep our community safe and prevent unnecessary wildfires.

🔥 Cold Weather Safety Tips from Willis-Powell Fire & Rescue 🔥

As the temperatures drop, we start cranking up the heat — but colder weather also brings a rise in house fires and carbon monoxide emergencies. Keep your family safe this season with these reminders:

🧯 Heating Safety
• Keep space heaters at least 3 feet from anything that can burn.
• Never leave a space heater unattended — turn it off when you leave the room or go to bed.
• Have your furnace and chimney inspected before regular use.

🚨 Carbon Monoxide Awareness
• Install CO alarms on every level of your home and test them monthly.
• Never use an oven, stove, or grill to heat your home.
• If your CO alarm sounds, get outside immediately and call 911.

🔥 Fireplace & Wood Stove Tips
• Use only dry, seasoned wood.
• Always use a screen to keep sparks inside.
• Let ashes cool completely before disposing — and place them in a metal container.

From all of us at Willis-Powell Fire & Rescue, stay warm, stay safe, and remember — we’re always here when you need us.

🕰️ Time to Fall Back — and Stay Safe! 🔥
When you set your clocks back this weekend, take a minute to check and replace the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

✅ Test each alarm to make sure it’s working.
✅ Replace alarms over 10 years old.
✅ Working alarms save lives!

A quick check today could protect your family tomorrow. ❤️
