On behalf of the TRIO offices at Suffolk University I would like to share that we have revamped our programing and scheduling. Our goal is to make the upcoming semester as flexible as possible as we have no idea the battles you’re facing, the anxieties you are managing, or the personal risk factors that you must account for.

We are all in this together and working to ensure that we maintain a mission driven focus with health and safety as our top priority.

Below you will find our offerings for the semester and we do hope to see you.

Today is more than just the United States Air Force’s 73rd birthday. Today is an opportunity to reflect on where we came from, how we got here and where we are going.

For more than seven decades we have served, fought, bled and died because our great nation needed us. We have broken barriers, some cultural and some sonic. We have dared to push boundaries, test our own limits and achieve the impossible.

We are, and continue to be, the world’s greatest Air Force.

Happy birthday, wingmen!

An Army Ranger who risked his life to save dozens of hostages will be awarded the Medal of Honor, the White House announced.

Sgt. Maj. Thomas “Patrick” Payne, who is assigned to the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, was part of a joint task force that assisted Iraqi security forces in raiding an ISIS prison near Hawija in northern Iraq, Oct. 22, 2015.

Payne and his teammates liberated 70 hostages -- many of whom were captured Iraqi security forces personnel -- after a request by the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Seventy-five years ago today, formal surrender documents signed aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay signified Victory over Japan Day (V-J Day), ending World War II. More than 16 million men and women served our nation during the war. Today, less than 400,000 are alive. To World War II Veterans past and present, VA salutes you.

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of US Navy Veteran and lifelong Kingston resident, Harold Malaguti at the age of 91. Harold was extremely proud of his 15 years serving in the Navy and the opportunity to see the world beyond the shores of his hometown. Many people remember Harold, his love of his prized vintage motor home, his daily walk to breakfast at the Early Bird and his kind heart. Thank you for your Service Harold. Rest in Peace. You will be greatly missed.

Rent relief is available for Kingston residents who have suffered job loss or wage reduction.

HFHGP is very pleased to announce our new COVID-19 Rent Relief program for low-income renters in our 6 service towns. In recognition of the significant, destabilizing effects that COVID-19 has brought to so many residents in our area, we created "Habitat Here & Now" to help low-income individuals who have suffered job loss or wage reduction due to this pandemic and are having difficulty with rent payments.
For complete details on eligibility and to download an application, go to: www.hfhplymouth.org/covidrelief.html

Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis, with a deadline of July 22, 2020. Evaluation will consider greatest need, with special consideration to households with children or disability. We will provide $500 to $1000 in one-time financial assistance for the sole purpose of rent. Funds are limited. We encourage eligible residents to apply as early as possible.

We are grateful to the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts for supporting this program with a generous grant.
