We've captured video footage of a suspicious person attempting to disable our security cameras. If anyone has any information on their identity and whereabouts please come by the Fort Southwest Point Visitor Center and provide it to our staff.

Tennessee has a new State Historic Park to explore!

Located in Kingston, Fort Southwest Point State Historic Park preserves a lesser-known story from Tennessee’s earliest days. Built in 1797, the fort served as a federal military post at the boundary between U.S. and Cherokee lands. Its story is not centered on a field of battle, but on negotiation, national expansion, and the people who shaped this region.

The site has been preserved and shared with the public for decades thanks to the City of Kingston and Kingston Parks and Recreation, with support from partners including the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, The Roane Alliance, the Roane County Heritage Commission, the Tennessee Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and Roane Tourism.

Today, visitors can explore the reconstructed fort, museum exhibits, lake views, fishing, disc golf, open green space, picnic areas, and a paved shoreline trail along Watts Bar Lake.
