On Monday, August 10, Kingston Fire Department units responded to a reported motor vehicle accident involving a rollover.
Units arrived in approximately three minutes and found a vehicle on its side with two occupants trapped inside. A second ALS ambulance was immediately requested to the scene.
Firefighters quickly went to work stabilizing the vehicle, establishing patient contact and providing care, while simultaneously beginning the extrication process.
Through the coordinated efforts of the 12 Firefighters/EMTs and Firefighter/Paramedics on scene, crews removed the roof of the vehicle and successfully extricated both occupants in approximately 15 minutes.
Both patients were transported to HealthAlliance Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Remaining personnel continued working at the scene to mitigate hazards and ensure the area was safe.
All Kingston Fire Department units were back in service approximately one hour after the initial dispatch.
