Together, with our supportive community, Ulster Habitat helps families build homes, ensuring a brighter future that has been demonstrated to be multi-generational. We believe that everry one deserves a safe, affordable place to live. Our mission is to build strength, stability, and independence through homeownership. With the help of volunteers and donations from businesses and members of the comm

unity, we are able to build homes for qualified families which they purchase with an affordable mortgage. Our families contribute sweat equity/volunteer hours to the construction of the homes and participating in Homebuyer Education classes. During the process, our families become knowledgeable about home repair and maintenance and learn the financial skills needed to be a successful homeowner.

Ask any teacher what makes the biggest difference in a student succeeding.

More often than not, it’s what’s happening at home. Is there a stable place to eat dinner? A quiet room to do homework? A parent who isn't consumed by the stress of making rent each month?

When that foundation is solid, everything that happens in the classroom has a better chance of sticking. Stable housing isn't just a quality-of-life issue. It's an education issue.

RUPCO has long been a partner of Ulster Habitat, providing resources for down payment assistance and closing costs. Ulster County's housing crisis requires organizations to work together, and we're proud to team up with RUPCO to bring first-time homebuyers as many resources as possible. This session explores the opportunities available through RUPCO's programs, presented by Nick Morrill, Assistant Director of Housing Programs.

Financial stability doesn't happen all at once. It's built decision by decision, month by month. Our financial education program helps participants build those habits and supports you with a personal coach along the way.

Less financial stress means more mental space to show up for work, for family, for the future they're trying to build.
