SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT (SYEP) HIGHLIGHT!

On Saturday, August 1st, from 10 am to 10 pm, SYEP youth employees at The DRAW in Kingston helped bring the DRAW-A-THON to life after weeks of preparation. From creating Emergency Drawing Kits, stickers, and pins to helping build the cardboard armadillo drawing robot, preparing activities, and supporting event setup, our youth brought creativity, teamwork, and dedication to every detail.
The 12 hour DRAW-A-THON transformed The DRAW into an interactive art experience for all ages, featuring drawing challenges, creative activities, a puppet show, and a collaborative canvas throughout the studio.
Throughout the event, our SYEP youth welcomed visitors, supported activities, and proudly shared the projects they helped create. Their hard work demonstrated the value of SYEP worksites in building skills in creativity, communication, collaboration, and community engagement while gaining meaningful workplace experience.
We are incredibly proud of our SYEP youth employees and grateful to The DRAW for providing such an inspiring space for young people to learn, grow, and make a difference in our community!
