Thursday Morning Update:

We’re almost done with this week’s snow emergency. Help us finish up by moving your vehicle one last time.

At 7:00am today (Thursday), move your vehicle to the EVEN side of the street.

At 3:00pm, the snow emergency and parking restrictions will be lifted.

Reminder: trash typically picked up on Tuesdays will be picked up today. Wednesday trash picked up on Friday. Thursday trash picked up on Saturday.

The City of Kingston has declared a Snow Emergency today, Tuesday, January 16, 2018, beginning at 6:00pm. Parking restrictions will go into effect at 8:00pm. Beginning at 8:00pm, vehicles may only be parked on the even side of the street which means the side of the street where there are even house numbers.

On Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 7:00am, vehicles must be moved to the odd side of the street which means the side of the street where there are odd house numbers. Vehicles not in compliance with these parking restrictions may be ticketed and towed.

Snow Emergency Routes will be maintained as priorities for plowing throughout the storm. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

There is a new water main break on Lucas ave. on the same location as the one last weekend. I just spoke to the water department and they expect to fix it fairly quickly, the one last week took so much longer because they had to wait for Central Hudson to mark the gas main before they could dig. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ward 1 neighbors, Election Day is here! I hope you will head to the polls today at Edson Elementary School and vote for me (Democrat line or Working Families line) for alderman. I share your concerns about taxes, our infrastructure, safe neighborhoods, timely city services and good paying jobs that will keep people in Kingston.
Here are a few of the issues I will work to address if elected as your alderman:
• Returning vacant city owned properties to the tax rolls, thereby increasing the city’s tax base without having to raise taxes on existing residents.
• Investing and being pro-active in infrastructure and service delivery, including ensuring our emergency personnel and DPW employees have workplaces and the equipment needed to perform their duties in a safe and effective manner.
• Creating a business-friendly climate as we build a mixed economy. Many small business owners live in our ward and I’ll do all I can to make sure they have the support they need to succeed and create more good paying jobs right here in Kingston.
Thank you for sharing with me your concerns, ideas and aspirations for our city. If elected, I will hold regular Ward 1 meetings to share news from city hall and continue to hear your feedback. Please remember to vote on Tuesday!
