🇺🇸 Today, Spring Lake Fire Department had the honor of participating in the Hurley Memorial Day Parade as we joined our community in remembering and honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
Memorial Day is more than a long weekend- it is a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom and a time to reflect on those who gave all so that we may live free.
We are grateful to stand alongside our neighbors in paying tribute to these heroes and ensuring their sacrifice is never forgotten. ❤️🤍💙

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Memorial Day is more than the start of summer—it is a solemn day of remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms we hold dear.
The folded American flag is a powerful symbol of honor, sacrifice, and gratitude. Each fold carries meaning, reminding us of the courage, devotion, and legacy of those who served and never came home.
Today, Spring Lake Fire Department stands in remembrance with grateful hearts. We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect, honor their memory, and never forget the true meaning of this day.
🇺🇸 We honor the fallen. We remember their sacrifice. We carry their legacy. 🇺🇸

Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we proudly stand in recognition of the brave men and women who answer the call- here in Spring Lake and around the world.
This day is a reminder of the courage it takes to run toward danger, the sacrifice made by firefighters and their families, and the unwavering commitment to protecting others- no matter the cost.
To our members: thank you for your dedication, your strength, and your service to this community each and every day.
To firefighters everywhere: we see you, we support you, and we honor you.
❤️ Courage. Sacrifice. Commitment.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

At Spring Lake Fire Department, we stand with everyone facing mental health challenges- especially our brothers and sisters in the fire service and all first responders who carry the weight of what they see and experience.

Behind every call is a person. Behind every uniform is a human being. Strength isn’t just measured by what we can handle alone, but by the courage to speak up, to check in, and to support one another.

If you’re struggling, please know you are not alone. It’s okay to not be okay- and it’s okay to ask for help. And if you know someone who might be having a tough time, reach out. A simple conversation can make a difference.

Let’s continue to look out for each other- on and off the job.

Today, we pause to remember Past Chief Theron “Ted” Jones on the 10th anniversary of his passing.
A decade later, the absence of his presence is still deeply felt- a space that simply cannot be filled. Ted was more than a leader; he was a mentor, a steady hand in difficult moments, and the kind of person who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His dedication, strength, and commitment to this department helped shape who we are today.
Though time has passed, his legacy continues to live on in the traditions we uphold, the lessons we carry forward, and the pride we take in serving our community.
We honor his memory today and always. Rest easy, Chief- you are missed more than words can express.

🔥 Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters 🔥

Join us in honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

From April 26 through May 3, we invite our community to shine a light of remembrance by illuminating your homes in red. Together, we can create a powerful tribute to our fallen firefighters and show support for their families.

This annual tribute takes place during National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend, a time dedicated to reflection, gratitude, and unity.

❤️ How to participate:
• Replace your porch lights with red bulbs
• Light up your home or business in red
• Share your display and help spread awareness

Let’s stand together and ensure their sacrifice is never forgotten.

Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters is part of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend sponsored by the NFFF.

🚨 It’s National Volunteer Week 🚨

Everyone sees the firefighters running into burning buildings… and yeah, they’re kind of a big deal. 🔥

But here’s the truth—our department runs on a whole crew of heroes you don’t always see.

The ones directing traffic in the rain.
The ones washing trucks at 9pm.
The ones filling out paperwork (yes… actual heroes 😅).
The ones organizing events, raising funds, and keeping everything moving behind the scenes.

Not everyone has to run into a fire to make a difference—but everyone makes it possible for us to.

So if you’ve ever thought, “I could never do that”… good news:
We need way more than just firefighters.

We need YOU.

Come be part of something bigger. 🚒
