💧 Ever wonder how your water well actually works?

Most homeowners don’t think about it—until there’s a problem. Here’s a quick breakdown of how your system delivers clean water every day:

🔹 The Well – A drilled hole that taps into groundwater deep below the surface
🔹 Well Pump – Pushes water from the ground up into your home
🔹 Pressure Tank – Keeps steady pressure so your faucets don’t sputter
🔹 Filtration/Treatment – Removes contaminants, minerals, and improves taste
🔹 Well Cap – Seals the top to keep out insects, debris, and contamination

From the ground to your glass, your well system is constantly working behind the scenes to keep your family supplied with safe, reliable water.

At Allied Clearwater, our in-house water professionals are here to help you maintain, repair, and optimize your system so it performs at its best year-round.

This week, we’re proud to celebrate Drinking Water Week 💧

Every time you turn on the tap, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes to make that water safe.

Water professionals are constantly:
• Testing for contaminants like bacteria, arsenic, nitrates, and PFAS
• Monitoring hardness, iron, and other minerals that affect your plumbing and appliances
• Designing and maintaining treatment systems to meet strict safety standards
• Making adjustments to ensure consistent, reliable water quality year-round

Whether your water comes from a private well or a municipal system, proper testing and treatment are essential—not just for taste, but for your health and long-term home protection.

At Allied Clearwater, we work hands-on with homeowners and businesses to identify what’s in their water and build solutions that deliver clean, dependable results.

👏 This week, we recognize all the operators, technicians, scientists, engineers and specialists who protect one of our most important resources every single day.

🙌 A special thank you to our in-house Allied Clearwater team—your knowledge, attention to detail, and commitment to quality care for water and air is what makes a real difference for every family we serve.

Because safe water doesn’t happen by accident—it’s engineered, tested, and maintained.

💧 Understanding Your Water Starts with Testing

Many water quality issues aren’t visible — and without proper testing, it’s impossible to know what you’re actually using in your home every day.

In New England, we commonly see:
• Bacteria – can pose health risks if untreated
• Arsenic – naturally occurring and common in well water
• PFAS (PFOA’s) – man-made contaminants found throughout NH
• Nitrates – often linked to runoff and environmental factors

That’s why professional water testing is the first and most important step. At Allied Clearwater, we evaluate your water and design treatment solutions based on your specific water chemistry — not a one-size-fits-all approach.

For drinking water, reverse osmosis systems are one of the most effective ways to reduce a wide range of contaminants and provide clean, great-tasting water right at your tap.

Our process:
1️⃣ In-home water testing
2️⃣ Clear explanation of results
3️⃣ Customized treatment recommendations
4️⃣ Professional installation & ongoing support

It started as a simple low water pressure call…

But once we pulled the pump, it told a different story.

The entire system was choked with iron buildup—so severe it had completely restricted the well pump. We replaced the pump, drop pipe, and wiring, and got everything back up and running.

But something still wasn’t right.

Even with a brand new pump, the house still wasn’t getting the water it should.

That’s when we kept digging—literally.

We found the issue went beyond the well… the water line feeding the house was also clogged with iron, restricting flow before it ever made it inside.

At that point, there’s only one real solution:
👉 Start fresh

We excavated the existing line and installed a brand new water service line to the home—working over two days and late into the night to make sure this homeowner had reliable water again.

Big thanks to BnR Hardscape and Excavation for jumping in and helping us get this one done right 👊

Thank you to Kevin and his family for trusting us with their home and their water, you guys rock.

💡 The takeaway:
Low pressure isn’t always just a pump issue. Iron buildup can impact your entire system—from the well all the way into your home.

If something feels off with your water, it’s worth having it looked at the right way.

When was the last time you checked your water system? 💧

Your home’s water treatment system works hard every day—don’t forget to give it the attention it needs to keep your water clean, safe, and running efficiently.

✔️ Check your softener salt levels regularly – Low salt = hard water problems (spots, buildup, dry skin)
✔️ Stay on top of annual service – Prevent costly repairs and keep your system performing like new
✔️ Protect your investment – Routine maintenance extends the life of your equipment

Ignoring small maintenance items today can turn into bigger (and more expensive) problems tomorrow.

At Allied Clearwater, we’re here to help keep your water flowing clear and clean year-round.
