University of Rhode Island Cooperative Extension Water Quality Program URI CEWQ offers research based education and training programs to help Rhode Island residents protect their water resources and health.

URI CEWQ consists of four programs that cater to different aspects of water quality and health:

URI Home*A*Syst - Offers residential pollution programs including drinking water protection, landscaping for water resource protection, and reducing pollution risks around the home. URI Watershed Watch - A scientist-led volunteer water quality monitoring program that monitors water bodies around the st

ate. RI Nonpoint Education for Municipal Officials (NEMO) - Supports local decision makers in the management of land use impacts on natural resources. New England Onsite Waste Water Training Program (NEOWTP) - A demonstration and field training center for conventional and alternative septic system technologies.
