"The Supreme Court has played an important role in the decades-long campaign to erode workers’ rights in this country. In particular, the Supreme Court has issued rulings that have undermined everything from workers’ rights to form unions, the ability to build strong unions, and health and safety on the job."

First women's rights, then workers' rights - these decisions impact ALL Americans.

Workers should pay attention to news that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has been wined and dined by a billionaire businessman for years without disclosures, while Justice Neil Gorsuch sold property to a law firm executive who has been involved in numerous cases before the court. It will...

Yesterday, Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Bobby Scott introduced the Richard L. Trumka Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act (H.R. 20) in the 118th Congress. The passing of the PRO would bolster workers’ freedom to join unions. This reintroduction comes at a time when workers are showing growing interest in joining unions, and facing unsurmountable barriers. Despite strong public support for unions and an enormous increase in union election petitions before the National Labor Relations Board, the number of U.S. workers represented by a union hit an all-time low in 2022.

Today, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Bobby Scott introduced the Richard L. Trumka Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act (H.R. 20) in the 118th Congress. EPI applauds the reintroduction of the PRO Act and urges Congress to pass this sorely needed legislation, bolstering workers’ freedom to...

"Confining the history of an entire race of people to a 28-day period not only diminishes the significance of their contributions but also allows the greater truth to be erased." https://www.rd.com/article/why-black-history-month-shouldnt-be-a-single-month/

Let us remember, as Black History Month comes to a close, that each new day provides an opportunity to celebrate Black History, be actively and intentionally anti-racist, and affirm that .

We know about Harriet Tubman and Martin Luther
King Jr., of course. But our American history lessons skip
over so many other African American achievers.

"Employee-experience management joins a long tradition of fanciful corporate monikers used to describe people-support roles, from director of well-being to chief happiness officer. And, yes, some of what these 'EX' managers do looks a lot like repackaged HR functions, such as helping new employees get set up in the job and organizing training sessions. Still, many in the job say it is much more technical. Employee-experience managers track and analyze daily workflow, office aesthetics and employee surveys to determine how engaged and satisfied workers are in their jobs. Employee-experience managers’ primary aim is to improve staff productivity, loyalty and retention, they say."

More companies hire “employee-experience managers” to help improve worker productivity, loyalty and retention.

As affirmative action increases access to higher education for students of color, who disproportionately face structural and financial barriers to completing their degrees, the Supreme Court's rulings against affirmative action and student loan debt forgiveness would cause communities of color to face widening gaps in college access and economic inequity. What are your thoughts on the implications for HR, labor relations, our workforces, and our economy?

In the wake of the appalling decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court is yet again at the forefront of repealing sweeping legislative precedent that will change the lives of millions of Americans. Following arguments from Harvard University and the University of North Carolina on whether....
