Update below: Congrats to our CMS Baseball team!!! Let’s Go Jackets 💙 🧡 ⚾️

Due to the large number of 6th grade players who attended tryouts yesterday, we will be holding a second round of tryouts for a select group of players. Coaches will be contacting the families of those players who have made the second cut with additional details regarding the next tryout date and time.

We appreciate everyone who came out and the effort each player gave during tryouts.

Hello everyone! My name is Maggie Turpin, and I am so incredibly excited to announce that I am your new Head Coach for the 2026-2027 season! Alongside stepping into this coaching role, I am also thrilled to be teaming up as the new co-P.E. teacher this year at Cherokee Middle School.

Jacket Family-please welcome Maggie Turpin!! Our new CMS Volleyball Coach and new PE teacher!!

Hi everyone! My name is Maggie Turpin, and I am so excited to be back home and joining the Jackets family! I grew up in Kingston and attended Kingston Elementary School, Cherokee Middle School, and graduated from Roane County High School in 2021. I earned my Associate of Science degree from Roane State Community College and my Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Wellness from Tennessee Technological University, and I am currently working on my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

This will be my second year teaching after spending last year at Wartburg Central Elementary, and I am excited to also serve as the head coach of the Lady Jackets middle school volleyball team! Outside of school, I enjoy cheering on the Tennessee Vols, all things Disney, and spending time with my husband Brandon and our two dogs, Neyland and Knox. I’m so happy to be back home — Go Jackets!🧡💙
