🚧 ROAD CLOSURE – CHERRY VALLEY ROAD

Cherry Valley Road will be closed tomorrow, August 26, from 6 a.m. to noon between Five Points Road and Genoa Road.

The contractor will be paving the gravel patch where the culvert was recently replaced.

Please plan for extra travel time, obey all signage, and use caution in the area. Thank you for your patience while this work is completed!

Genoa Township Road district. Will be chip sealing Melms Road from 23 East to the East County line, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of this week. Expect delays . Be cautious of loose gravel .

Genoa Township will be spray patching Melms road from State Route 23-East to the East County Line starting at 6 am August 10th ( unknown how late in the day ) up to and including August 13th.
Expect delays .

Heads up …

UPDATE: The roads are back OPEN as of 2:15 p.m. ✅

🚧 Road Closure Notice | Friday, August 7 🚧

Weather permitting, DeKalb County Highway crews will begin road work at 8:00 a.m. and will have multiple road closures throughout the day.

📍 First Closure:
• Stone Quarry Road between Cherry Valley Road and Bloods Point Road (Boone County)

Once work is complete and the road reopens, crews will move to:

📍 Second Closure:
• Cherry Valley Road between Stone Quarry Road and Pearl Street

⚠️ During the second closure, traffic will not be able to access Cherry Valley Road from:
• Paulson Road (north)
• Bucks Road (north)

Friday's closures will finish the replacement project on Cherry Valley Road with the exception of one that is East of Five Points Road.

Please plan ahead, use alternate routes, and allow extra travel time. Thank you for your patience as crews complete this work safely.

Storms in central IL are not severe at the moment, but are gusty with downpours. There is some potential though that they intensify as they race east across the region.

Be aware these could carry gusty winds of 35-65MPH and downpours. This is round 1, a second round will try to impact central IL after 6PM.
