The Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office was once again honored to welcome Apostle Ronnie Robinson from
F1rm Foundation Church to our department to speak life, encouragement, and prayer over our entire agency.

Apostle Robinson took the time to pray over our department, our employees, our leadership, our families, and the work placed before us each day. His words reminded us that while we may wear the uniform, our strength does not come from the badge alone.

We are incredibly grateful for his continued willingness to pour into the men and women of the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office and to cover this department in prayer.

Thank you, Apostle Ronnie Robinson, for once again reminding us that those who spend their lives watching over others need someone watching and praying over them, too.

May God continue to bless the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office and the community we are privileged to serve.

PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT

A rattlesnake was spotted near the Dairy Queen along Highway 77 in Riviera. One person has been hospitalized after sustaining a bite.

Please exercise extreme caution in and around this area. Remain alert, keep children and pets close, and do not approach the snake if it is seen or heard.

SCAM ALERT: FRAUDULENT WARRANT CALLS

The Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a new scam involving individuals falsely identifying themselves as a Kleberg County Lieutenant.

Scammers are contacting residents and claiming that they have an active warrant because they failed to appear for a Grand Jury summons. They may attempt to pressure you into providing personal information or making an immediate payment to avoid arrest.

Please remember:

- You do not provide your phone number when you register to vote. Be suspicious of anyone claiming they received your telephone number through voter registration or jury records.

- Warrants are public record. If you are concerned that you may have an active warrant, you can independently contact the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office to verify that information.

- The Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office will NEVER call you and demand or solicit payment for a warrant. We will not threaten you with immediate arrest unless you make a payment over the phone.

- Do not provide personal, financial, or identifying information to an unsolicited caller.

If you receive one of these calls, hang up and independently call the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office at 361-595-8500 to verify the information.

Do not use a phone number provided by the caller. When in doubt, hang up and call us yourself.

Please share this information, especially with elderly family members, friends, and neighbors who may be more vulnerable to these types of scams.

Update:
OWNER HAS BEEN FOUND!

FOUND: ONE VERY LOST DONKEY

Buckle Up Kleberg County … this is a new one.

Today, this handsome little fella was found wandering around the 200 block of West Poplar in Riviera, Texas, apparently without a care in the world or any intention of explaining himself.

If you are missing a donkey, please contact the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office at 361-595-8500 so we can reunite him with his family.

Otherwise, if he remains unclaimed for 24 hours, he will be sworn in as the newest Kleberg County Sheriff’s Deputy and is expected to report for his first shift Monday morning at 8:00 AM sharp.

Current assignment: Grass Enforcement Unit.
Specialty: Pursuing baaaaad guys.
Attitude: A little stubborn, but we’ve worked with worse.

If you receive one of these calls and are unsure if it is legitimate, please contact us directly at 361-595-8500. If you have an emergency, dial 911 immediately.

Please help us protect our community by sharing this post and reminding your family and friends to stay vigilant.

SCAM ALERT!

The Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous reports today of citizens being called by someone claiming to be a “captain” from our agency. The caller, using an unknown number, falsely states that the individual has a warrant for missing jury duty and must either pay a sum of money or report to the Sheriff’s Office to be arrested.

This is a scam. Our office will never call demanding payment over the phone or threaten arrest in this manner.

If you receive one of these calls, do not engage and do not provide any personal information or payment.

Your safety and awareness are our priority.

His unwavering dedication, faithful service, and commitment to the citizens of Kleberg County will never be forgotten.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and his constituents at Precinct 4.

Here at the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office, we pride ourselves on knowing our employees and their unique interests. So naturally, we spared no expense to hire a team of highly trained professional decorators to transform Lieutenant Salinas’ office into the Paw Patrol birthday celebration of his dreams!!

Unless he is mad…then we will, of course, spare no expense to find those vandalizing vandals responsible for this…vandalism.
