Welcome everyone who is following our Lone Star Fire Academy page. I know it’s been awhile since our last post, but there have been some changes happening behind the scenes of our Fire Science program here at . There has been some changes in leadership and we would like to recognize those individuals. Please welcome Emile Haley (pictured left) as he has stepped up to an adjunct position here at LSC-Kingwood. Chief Haley brings a wealth of knowledge in the fire service and has a passion for shaping the future firefighters of tomorrow. Also, we would like to recognize another individual who will be taking over the program and keep it going as the Chief of Training Jeffrey Zepeda (pictured right) He will be replacing Chief Teverbaugh who will be retiring at the end of August. Chief Zepeda brings over 20+ years of experience from the fire service, has served many ranks up to Assistant Chief. Chief Zepeda has a passion for training and mentoring our future firefighters and future leaders of tomorrow. Congratulations gentlemen and welcome to Lone Star Kingwood Fire Science program.

Summer may be in full swing, but we're not slowing down!

We're keeping the momentum going with 20 students tackling our EMT courses while our team works hard behind the scenes preparing for the Fall Fire Academy.

A huge thank you to **Redline Gear Cleaning** for cleaning, inspecting, and repairing more than 30 sets of instructor gear. Your commitment to quality and safety helps ensure our instructors are prepared to train the next generation of first responders.

Here's to a productive summer and an exciting fall ahead! 🚑🔥

🎓🚒 Celebrating Achievement, Dedication, and Legacy 🚒🎓

The Lone Star College Fire Academy proudly recognizes the accomplishments of Class 24 and Class 25 as they successfully complete their journey toward becoming the next generation of firefighters.

Over the past months, these cadets have demonstrated determination, resilience, discipline, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to serving others. Through countless hours of classroom instruction, hands-on training, physical challenges, skills evaluations, and personal sacrifice, they have earned the privilege of joining one of the most respected professions in the world.

We celebrate not only their graduation but the bright futures that lie ahead as they begin their careers in the fire service. We are incredibly proud of each cadet and grateful for the families, instructors, and supporters who stood beside them throughout this journey.

This graduation also marks a significant milestone for our program as we recognize and honor our Director, Chief David Teverbaugh, on his retirement after years of dedicated service to the fire service and fire education. Chief Teverbaugh's leadership, mentorship, and commitment to developing future firefighters have left a lasting impact on our academy and the countless students whose lives and careers he has helped shape.

Chief, thank you for your dedication, guidance, and the legacy you leave behind. Your influence will continue to be felt in every firefighter who carries forward the lessons you taught and the standards you upheld.

Congratulations to Class 24 and Class 25, and best wishes to Chief Teverbaugh on a well-earned retirement. The future of the fire service is brighter because of your contributions. (May 15th, 2026)
