π KINGWOOD VFD ANNOUNCES PROMOTION TO ASSISTANT CHIEF π
The Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department is proud to announce the promotion of Captain Matt Borror to the rank of Assistant Chief.
Assistant Chief Borror has dedicated 27 years of service to the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department. During his time with the department, Matt has served in several leadership positions, including Lieutenant and Captain, and has also served two terms as President of the department.
Mattβs service to our community extends well beyond the firehouse. He has also served as General Chairman of the Preston County Buckwheat Festival, taking on another major leadership role within our community.
This promotion is well deserved and earned. Matt brings nearly three decades of experience, leadership, knowledge, and commitment to the Assistant Chief position. We are fortunate to have him helping lead the next generation of Kingwood firefighters.
With this promotion, the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Departmentβs officers are:
π Chief β Ethan Rouzee
π Deputy Chief β Brandon Chaney
π Assistant Chief β Matt Borror
π Captain β Scott Bexfield
π Lieutenant β Marshall Barlow
π Lieutenant β Marty Borror
The department also voted to accept three new members β one Firefighter, one Junior Firefighter, and one Trainee. We will formally introduce and recognize those individuals in separate announcements at a later date.
With these additions, the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department now has 28 active members in our firefighter ranks.
Over the past 2Β½ years, KVFD has experienced tremendous growth, adding 10 firefighters at various ranks, while also welcoming back several members who have returned to active service. For a volunteer fire department, that kind of growth is something we are extremely proud of.
Growing our membership isnβt simply about adding names to a roster. It means more trained firefighters available when the tones drop, stronger crews responding to emergencies, more experience being passed down to newer members, and a stronger department for the community we serve.
That growth, combined with experienced members like Matt stepping into greater leadership roles, puts the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department in a strong position for the future.
Please join us in congratulating Assistant Chief Matt Borror on his promotion and thanking him for 27 years of dedicated service to the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department and our community.
Congratulations, Chief Borror β well earned! π
