Search & Rescue Training

We would like to extend our gratitude to BROOKFIELD FIRE/EMS for hosting and supporting this training exercise, particularly in simulating the rescue of a downed firefighter. On Saturday, our department dedicated several hours to training in search and rescue operations. For a more detailed overview and explanation of the training, please refer to our previous post we shared.

Sharing this post as I don't think I could have said it better or explained what all the training was in detail. Our department used a fog machine to imitate smoke in a real fire. I had the pleasure of being able to be inside with my department and see what they see and what they have to do in a real situation. I will share my pictures in another post, you will see a lot of fog (smoke) and very little firefighters. I can tell you, I couldn't see anything at times in there. To go up and down stairs was extremely hard as I couldn't even see the steps or my own feet.

Storm Clean Up

Due to the upcoming weather, this month's tornado siren test originally scheduled for Saturday, February 7th at noon has been canceled. The cancellation is out of pure caution of causing damage to the motors of the sirens due to freezing with the temps dropping significantly with the wind chills. Stay warm out there!
