Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Celebrates D.A.R.E. Graduations

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office proudly celebrated the completion of D.A.R.E. graduations at seven elementary schools throughout Lenoir County, reaching approximately 400 students during the program.

The Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program is designed to provide students with the skills needed to make safe and responsible decisions, resist peer pressure, and build strong relationships with law enforcement officers in their communities.

Throughout the school year, School Resource Officers with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office worked closely with students in classrooms across the county, teaching lessons focused on good decision-making, personal responsibility, and living drug-free lifestyles.

Sheriff Jackie Rogers congratulated the graduating students for their hard work and participation in the program.

“We are proud of each student who completed the D.A.R.E. program this year,” said Sheriff Rogers. “Programs like D.A.R.E. help build confidence, strengthen decision-making skills, and create positive relationships between our youth and law enforcement. We appreciate the support from our schools, teachers, and parents who help make this program successful.”

Deputy McWilliams, the agency’s D.A.R.E. Officer, also praised the students for their commitment throughout the program.

“It has been a privilege to work with these students throughout the school year,” said Deputy McWilliams. “Watching them grow in confidence, learn important life skills, and graduate from the D.A.R.E. program has been very rewarding. We are proud of every student who participated.”

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend a special thank you to guest speaker Pastor Justin Barnett for taking the time to speak with the students during the D.A.R.E. graduation program. His encouraging words and support helped make the event even more meaningful for the graduates and their families.

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office would also like to thank community sponsors 32 Below and TundraTown for helping celebrate the graduates by providing sweet treats for the students during the graduation celebrations

Congratulations D.A.R.E. Graduates!!!!!

Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office is proud to be participating in this statewide effort to raise awareness about North Carolina’s Move Over Law.

When you see flashing lights – whether it’s law enforcement, emergency responders, or service vehicles – slow down and move over to the next lane if it’s safe to do so. These simple actions save lives.

Officers, emergency responders and service vehicles stand just feet away from passing traffic. A moment of inattention can change lives forever.

Move Over – Slow Down – Stay Focused. It’s not just the law – it’s about protecting lives.
