Downtown Kinston Revitalization DKR has brought a new vibe and new life to downtown. Downtown living is growing, our nighttime vibe is diverse, and more is coming soon.

DKR is a an affiliate Main Street program with Main Street America. Pride of Kinston is a nonprofit organization founded in 1984 with a mission of leading, promoting and celebrating the revitalization of Kinston's downtown.

Early registration is officially open for the 2026 Light the Night Christmas Parade, and in honor of Americaโ€™s 250th birthday, weโ€™re adding a patriotic twist to one of Kinstonโ€™s favorite holiday traditions.

From patriotic Christmas trees to red, white & blue lights, stars, ornaments and decorations we canโ€™t wait to see what you create!

If you purchased a Giant Christmas Card for Pearson Park last year and would like to renew your participation or if you missed the opportunity and would like to join this year please contact our office at 252.525.6144.

These beautiful 6-foot by 3-foot illuminated cards are displayed for six weeks between Thanksgiving and New Yearโ€™s and provide wonderful visibility for businesses while supporting DKRโ€™s holiday initiatives.
