Ahoy! The Patch is back after its summer hiatus!

WELCOME BACK, PIRATES! And just like that…summer has sailed by, the hallways are buzzing again, and we are officially underway for the 2026-27 school year!

This year, we’re "Charting Our Course" — moving forward together with purpose, a clear sense of direction, and a shared commitment to making Palisades the very best it can be for our students, families, staff, and community. We’re excited about where we’re headed and there are already some wonderful things to share!

The course is set, the compass is pointing forward, and we can’t wait to see where this school year takes us. New year, same Pirate pride.

The halls are buzzing, the classrooms are ready, and the 2026–2027 school year is officially underway! 🎉📚

We are so excited to welcome our students, faculty, and staff back to school today as we begin another year of learning, growing, connecting, and Charting Our Course together.

🎒✨ READY, SET… SCHOOL! ✨🎒

What a week it has been at Palisades! After a summer filled with hard work, building improvements, planning, preparing, polishing and plenty of behind-the-scenes magic, our schools are ready — and we can’t wait to welcome our students back on Monday! 💜💛

This week alone was packed with moments that reminded us just how special our Palisades community is:

🎒 Palisades Community Foundation’s Backpack, School Supplies & Gift Card Giveaway (THANK YOU, PCF!)

🧭 Opening Day and the return of our entire faculty and staff

🍎 New Teacher Academy welcoming our newest educators

🖍️ Kindergarten Orientation & School Supply Drop-Off

🏴‍☠️ Link Crew welcoming our incoming 9th graders

🤝 WEB — Where Everyone Belongs — helping our 6th graders make the transition

🎶 And our incredible PHS Madrigals topping off the week by wowing the crowd with the National Anthem at an IronPigs game!

And those are just some of the highlights!

There has been so much energy, excitement and connection throughout the district this week as we prepare to begin another year of learning, growing and Charting Our Course together.

The classrooms are ready. The hallways are waiting. Our staff is excited. All that’s missing is our students. 💜

Attention Parents of 4th and 5th Grade students! Your child has the exciting opportunity to join our Band Program here at Palisades. Joining band is a truly enriching experience and we hope you will explore this experience!

1) Start the Conversation! Talk with your child to see if joining band is something they may be interested in! To explore the different instruments your child can choose, click this link to our Palisades Band Recruiting Website.

2) Meet the Instruments! It's hard to know simply by seeing or hearing an instrument if it may be the right fit for your child. We invite you to our "Meet the Instrument" Night on Tuesday, September 1st from 6-8pm at Durham Nockamixon Elementary School where students can test play up to three different band instruments to help in their decision making! The night is like an open house, so feel free to come at any point during the time frame that is convenient for you and your family. Families should expect to spend between 15-30 minutes to get through the entire process.
