🏈 South Barber is taking over the 6-Man All-State Summer Kickoff Classic! 🏈
We are incredibly proud to announce that Chieftain nation is being well-represented out at the big game this weekend! Brayden Duvall will be taking the field to play, and our very own Coach Cantrell is on the sidelines helping coach the squad!
They are already on-site putting in the work and getting ready to represent South Barber against some of the best 6-man talent across Kansas and Colorado.

Huge congratulations to the South Barber track and field team for an incredible showing at the Kansas State Track and Field Championships this weekend!

A massive shoutout goes to the South Barber Boys team, who managed to capture 4th place overall in the team standings. What makes this achievement truly unbelievable is that they did it with only three athletes competing. That is an elite level of efficiency and talent.

Here is how our incredible South Barber athletes performed on the state stage:

Boys Team Results (4th Place Overall)
Joshua MacKinney (11th Grade): State Runner-Up in the 3200 meter run (9:50.97), 3rd place in the 1600 meter run (4:33.33), and 8th place in the 800 meter run (2:04.8).

Garen Cantrell (11th Grade): State Runner-Up in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:00.86.

Austin Swonger (11th Grade): 3rd place in the 300 meter hurdles (40.31) and 5th place in the 110 meter hurdles (15.42).

Girls Team Results
Lily Schurter (12th Grade): 9th place in the shot put with a throw of 37-01.50 and 13th place in the discus with a throw of 111-03.

Reignie Coggins (11th Grade): 11th place in the 400 meter dash prelims with a time of 1:02.10.

Kenslea Schupbach (11th Grade): 15th place in the 100 meter hurdle prelims with a time of 17.25.

We are so proud of the hard work, dedication, and Chieftain pride these athletes displayed this weekend. Way to represent South Barber at the highest level!

MORE CHIEFTAINS HEADED TO STATE

The South Barber state-bound crew just keeps getting bigger and better.
A massive congratulations to our latest State Qualifiers who punched their tickets to the Kansas State Track and Field Championships this weekend.
Kenslea Schupbach – Coming up huge in the 100-meter hurdles to secure her spot among the best in the state.

The Boys 4x400m Relay Team – Christian White, Garen Cantrell, Joshua MacKinney, and Austin Swonger teamed up, turned on the jets, and qualified for the big stage.
The dedication, teamwork, and grit shown by these athletes at Regionals was unbelievable. The bags are packed, the spikes are ready, and Wichita is calling.

🏆 BACK-TO-BACK REGIONAL CHAMPION & STATE BOUND AGAIN! 🏆

He completely owns the distance events! 🏃‍♂️💨
An incredible shoutout to South Barber Junior Joshua MacKinney for dominating the track once again and capturing 1st place in the 3200-meter run at Regionals!
With this powerhouse performance, Joshua is now a 2-time Regional 3200m Champion, winning the grueling 8-lap race two years in a row! Not only did he defend his crown, but he has officially punched his ticket to the State meet in yet another event. 🎟️✨
Joshua’s stamina, determination, and consistency are absolutely unmatched. He is heading to State on a mission, and we can’t wait to watch him run!

What a spectacular show of teamwork and talent on the track today! 🏃‍♂️💨
A massive congratulations to Juniors Garen Cantrell and Joshua MacKinney for putting on a clinic in the 800-meter run and punching their tickets to the State meet!
Garen Cantrell captured 1st place to become the Regional Champion, crossing the finish line with a phenomenal new Personal Record of 2:02! 🏆⏱️
Joshua MacKinney wasn't far behind, running a stellar race to finish right on his teammate's heels as the Regional Runner-Up! 🥈
Watching these two push each other to greatness has been a highlight of the season. Next up, they are taking that dominant 1-2 punch straight to the State stage!

He just couldn't stop at one! 🏃‍♂️💨

An absolute masterclass on the track today as South Barber Junior Austin Swonger takes home 1st place in the 300m Hurdles to secure his second Regional Championship of the day!
Adding this gold to his 110m hurdles victory, Austin is putting the entire state on notice. His speed, endurance, and flawless technique are unmatched, and he is heading to the State meet with serious momentum. 🏆🏆
