Bald is beautiful. Cancer is not.

We face a lot of challenges in this line of work, and the biggest is cancer. Travis is a 25-year veteran of the Kirkland Fire Department. He is one of the toughest we have, but he still needs your help. The best ways to help: shave your head!

Join us on October 26th at 8am, at Fire Station 27 in Kirkland for our “Shave a Firefighter” event in support of cancer research. Your Kirkland firefighters, some of which have amazing hair cuts, will be shaving their heads for Travis.

Please consider donating what you can. Please come out and say hello on the 26th. And who knows, maybe we will let you do the shaving!

Thank you in advance for your support.

Please consider a donation if you feel led to do so. We stand strong with brother Palombi and the Seattle Fire Department!

We are saddened to share that Seattle Firefighter Joseph Palombi was involved in a serious vehicle collision earlier this week while on his way to work. He is recovering in the hospital and is in critical but stable condition. Joe’s family appreciates the outpouring of support from those close to him. Joe is assigned to Fire Station 28 on Ladder 12. We are surrounding him with love.

Seattle’s Bravest Charity is accepting donations to help the Palombi family. Those who wish to donate can do so online and can indicate it’s to support “Firefighter Palombi”: https://seattlesbravestcharity.com/?page_id=530

Today we mourn the loss of our brother, mentor, leader, Battalion Chief and friend. Chief Bill Hoover and his wife Kristy tragically lost their lives in a car accident, July 21, 2023. Bill and Kristy were family first and their loss will be felt by all who knew and loved them. Chief Hoover leaves behind a tremendous legacy and wealth of firefighting knowledge and has left his mark on all of us. Bill believed in us, believed in our department, and fought hard for the safety and betterment of our lives and careers. Our thoughts and prayers remain with their family as they endure this tragedy.
