Not all life saving work we do is in the counties we serve. Sometimes we need to travel to represent our mission and advocate for legislation that supports our mission and allows us to return back to the areas we serve knowing we did what we can to help educate the decision makers and answer questions relevant to the needs of our communities. It was an honor and pleasure to share the needs of Adair County and the rest of Missouri to legislators in Jefferson City and visit the State Capitol today. Together our voice is louder!

Today, our crews and emergency services teams collaborated with ATSU to educate ATSU medical students in Advanced Disaster Life Support. This collaborative effort enhances emergency medicine care across multiple levels, ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing mortality rates in mass casualty incidents. Following classroom instruction, numerous volunteers participated in a simulated disaster scenario, assuming victim roles. Through joint training exercises, we emphasize the significance of coordinated treatment from initial response to definitive care.

Be ready when it matters most. Immediate CPR can double or triple the odds of surviving a cardiac arrest. Hands-Only CPR has just two simple steps you can learn right now:

If you see a teen or adult collapse, call 911, then push hard and fast in the center of the chest until help can arrive.

We were delighted to demonstrate CPR at Faith Lutheran School's K-8 grade Health Fair, where students actively participated and asked pertinent questions. Their eagerness to learn CPR highlights the importance of such initiatives. In recognition of National Heart Month, we would be pleased to visit your group, provide ambulance base tours, or facilitate AHA BLS/CPR First Aid classes through our ACADemy. To arrange a visit or training session tailored to your requirements, kindly visit our website or call 660-665-0000.

It is with great honor we pay our final respects to a long time Board Member of Adair County Ambulance District. David Kittle served many years as a dedicated board member of ACAD while also being involved with many other emergency services organizations in our community. David’s leadership and commitment has helped direct where ACAD is today and where we are headed in the future. Our sincere condolences go out to all of his family and friends. The foundation David has helped establish will continue throughout years to come and his dedication will not be forgotten.

As the day concludes, we would like to take a moment to express our appreciation for our distinguished Female Medical Directors on National Female Physician Appreciation Day. These remarkable women offer invaluable expertise in the care we provide to our patients. They are truly among the best, and we feel privileged to have them lead our team clinically. Our sincerest gratitude goes to Dr. Erin Grugrich and Dr. Jessica Caine for their outstanding dedication.

🌟 Instructor Spotlight: Jordin 🌟

Meet Jordin — EMT 🚑, Business Manager 📋, and the behind-the-scenes force that keeps The ACADemy running like a well-oiled machine.

While she’s an EMT by certification, her real superpower is organization, logistics, and making sure everything (and everyone) is exactly where it needs to be. If a class runs flawlessly, paperwork is perfect, and schedules magically work… you can thank Jordin. ✨

Outside of The ACADemy, Jordin stays busy with her husband and kids showing sheep 🐑 and rabbits 🐇 across the state, farming 🚜, and spending as much time outdoors as possible hunting 🎯, fishing 🎣, and enjoying country life.

She’s also secretly crafty 🎨 and a surprisingly good baker 🧁… but don’t spread that around too much or we’ll all start placing orders.

We’re lucky to have Jordin as part of The ACADemy team! ❤️
