Life happens, and breastfeeding is incredibly adaptable! For World Breastfeeding Week, we are highlighting that there is no “one size fits all” way to feed your baby. Missouri families are writing their stories as they go to make breastfeeding work for their unique lives.

Ways to stay flexible:
• Don’t compare: Every baby and every journey is different.
• Embrace change: It’s normal for things to shift as your baby grows.
• Seek solutions: If a challenge arises, reach out for support to find a new path.
• Trust yourself: You are the expert on your baby.

Tell us your story: Breastfeeding rarely goes exactly as planned! What is one way you’ve had to “go with the flow” or adapt your journey to make it work for your family? Share your experience in the comments to help inspire others!

Breastfeeding is as much about mindset as it is about nutrition. This World Breastfeeding Week, we are celebrating the magic of believing in yourself! Every drop counts. Every victory, big or small, is worth a celebration.

Magic mindset reminders:
• Trust your body: You’ve got this!
• Give yourself grace: Be kind to yourself as you and your baby learn together.
• Recognize barriers: It’s okay to reach for support when things get tough.
Celebrate every win: Whether it’s the first latch or reaching a monthly goal, you’re doing great!

Tell us: What is one “small win” you’ve celebrated recently?

Success starts with a plan! As we celebrate World Breastfeeding Week, we want to help you build a foundation for a sustainable breastfeeding journey. Whether it’s your first baby or your third, preparing early is one of the best ways to “Strengthen What Works.”

How to plan for a strong start:
• Learn the basics: Sign up for a breastfeeding class during pregnancy.
• Build your team: Talk to your partner, family and WIC breastfeeding peer counselor about your goals.
• Protect your supply: Learn how to build and protect your milk supply from day one.
• Stay curious: Ask questions at the hospital and with your health care provider.
