As most of you may already know, am planning to retire after 28 years of service in the military. I am not planning a retirement ceremony as I don’t wish to have a “All About Me Show.”
However, I have been receiving unexpected texts and FB messages from service members and spouses about the positive impacts I’ve made during some of their most difficult times in their lives. Others have thanked me for creating a safe and welcoming space at a time when the military was not an inclusive institution.
But it is I who want to thank you. Thank you for letting me serve you, thank you for validating my ministry. It has been a privilege and an honor to be your chaplain and to walk (however brief) part of your life path with you.
