Thank you to Leadership Osceola for participating in our Poverty Simulator.

This powerful experience provided a firsthand look at the challenges many families face every day while navigating housing, transportation, employment, healthcare, and other essential needs. By stepping into these real-life scenarios, participants gained a deeper understanding of the barriers that can make achieving stability difficult.

Save the Date!

Buen Vecino Senior Living Community Pre-Applications Open June 12

We are anticipating a very high level of interest in Buen Vecino Senior Living Community and encourage eligible residents to be prepared before the application period opens.

Beginning June 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, pre-applications will be accepted online for adults 62 years of age and older who meet income eligibility requirements.

Due to the expected demand, applicants should plan ahead and submit their pre-application as early in the day as possible.

Assistance hubs with computers and tablets will be available throughout Osceola County for those who need help completing the online process.

Please note:
• Pre-applications are available online only
• Supporting documents are not required at the time of pre-application
• Submission of a pre-application does not guarantee housing
• Applications will be placed on the application list in the order received

Affordable senior housing opportunities are limited throughout Central Florida, and we expect significant community interest in this new development.

Leadership Osceola

Today, the Osceola Council on Aging was proud to welcome community leaders from across Osceola County as part of Osceola's Leadership Day.

These dedicated leaders jumped right into the action by assisting in programs throughout our building and experiencing firsthand the work that takes place every day to support seniors, adults with disabilities, and families in need.

Thank you to Leadership Osceola and all of today's participants for investing in Osceola County and helping make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Daycare Leadership

Today, our Adult Day Care Program welcomed members of the Osceola Leadership group to the Osceola Council on Aging. During their visit, they learned more about the services and programs we provide to support older adults in our community.

Several members of the leadership group joined our Adult Day Care participants for a fun-filled Carnival Time celebration. We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase our program and appreciate their interest in the important work we do every day!

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice made our freedoms possible, and today we reflect with respect.

At the Osceola Council on Aging, we are especially mindful of the veterans and military families we are privileged to serve throughout our community every single day.

As we gather with family and friends this holiday weekend, let us also take a moment to remember those who never made it home, and those who may be reflecting alone today.

From all of us at the Osceola Council on Aging, we wish you a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Senior's Bingo Day at Westgate Villas

We would like to give a special thank you to Westgate Foundation and Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center Resort for their kindness and continued support of our seniors.

Thank you for hosting and organizing bingo activities for the seniors currently staying at the hotel. These activities give them something fun to look forward to and help them stay engaged and social during this time.

Volunteer Day with First United Methodist Church of Kissimmee

A huge thank you to the incredible volunteers from First United Methodist Church Kissimmee for spending the day serving at Oak Leaf Landing Senior Housing.

From helping clean and organize homes to simply spending time bringing comfort and smiles to residents, every minute mattered.

We are grateful for your time, compassion, and willingness to help make Oak Leaf Landing feel even more like home.
