One Team, One Mission ๐Ÿค

Our firefighters recently had the opportunity to participate in multi-agency training with our partners at Osceola County Sheriff's Office, practicing coordinated Swift Assist Victim Extraction (SAVE Team) tactics utilized during active threat incidents. When seconds matter and coordination is key, joint training opportunities like these increase operational familiarity between our personnel and strengthen the trust that is key to ensuring rapid, effective response during highly dynamic emergencies.

Following extended dry conditions, A burn ban is now in effect for residents of unincorporated Osceola County. A burn ban is issued as a measure to reduce community wildfire risk when environmental conditions make the local area especially susceptible to wildfire hazards.

While a burn ban is in effect, open outdoor burning of any kind is prohibited. This includes:

๐Ÿ”ฅ Campfires
๐Ÿ”ฅ Fire pits and pit-based grills
๐Ÿ”ฅ Trash burning
๐Ÿ”ฅ Any ground-based burning
๐Ÿ”ฅ Discharging fireworks

The burn ban will remain in effect until local conditions, as measured by the Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI), have improved for a period of 7 days.

For more information, please visit fire.osceola.org and click on the โ€œCurrent Local Conditionsโ€ page.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Fogatas
๐Ÿ”ฅ Fosas de quema y parrillas en fosas
๐Ÿ”ฅ Quema de basura
๐Ÿ”ฅ Cualquier quema terrestre

Heavy Rescue 1, Now In Service! ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿš’

OSCFR joined the Board of County Commissioners, County leadership, and community partners to celebrate our department's newest special operations apparatus, Heavy Rescue 1.

A fully custom 42-foot Sutphen apparatus, Heavy Rescue 1 is a "toolbox on wheels" that carries highly specialized equipment for responding to a wide array of hazardous materials (HazMat) and technical rescue emergencies. Staffed by 4 highly-trained special operations firefighters, Heavy Rescue 1 will operate County-wide to increase efficiency and effectiveness in responding to complex incidents throughout our entire service area.

Heavy Rescue 1 received a ceremonial "wetdown" today from fellow special operations apparatus Squad 62 and Squad 53 during a special in-service ceremony this morning at NeoCity.
