We had a productive morning shelving books! We got over half our collection up! We’d like to extend a HUGE thank you to our Friends at Friends of the Kittitas Gilmour Memorial Library and Friends of the Ellensburg Public Library and Hal Holmes Community Center. Many hands make light work! We are one step closer to being able to open our doors. Stay tuned!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Our plan after the weekend is to start shelving books in our new location in the Catalyst!! It is the old hardware store. We can't wait to have more room to be able to serve our community better!

MOVING DAY is finally here! We are so excited to start setting up our new space and we would love your help!

If you are interested in volunteering to help with our big move feel free to send us a message for details or just meet us behind City Hall (207 N. Main St.) at NOON this THURSDAY(5/14).

This round will involve heavy lifting so if that’s not for you, sit this one out. We’ll have more opportunities to help shelve books, etc. that will be less labor intensive in the near future!

Our library is in an exciting transition right now and we have big plans for the future! We have a group of amazing people dedicated to helping us reach our goals - BUT - we need more help! If you would like to join a like-minded group of “go-getters” dedicated to keeping our public library accessible to the community please consider volunteering for the nonprofit group The Friends of the Gilmour Memorial Library (tagged). Examples of volunteer opportunities could range anywhere from helping with the upcoming move, our summer reading program, weekly storytime, fundraising events, seasonal events, manning the circulation desk, etc. They have something for everyone and will welcome any level of help!

Thank you to all of our patrons for your support! The past couple of years have shown us that it's not the building itself that really matters, but our relationship with our patrons. Your support over the years has meant so much to us and it kept us going as we looked for a new location to better serve you in. Our Library Board, Volunteers, Friends of the Gilmour Memorial Library, City Staff and City Council have gone the extra mile during this time and we have seen first hand just how much this library means to everyone!! We are excited to be moving into our new location soon at 117 N. Main St. (old hardware store building) in Kittitas and are grateful for the new relationship the library has with the Catalyst and the Chamber of Commerce. Exciting things are on the way! We will keep you posted on the moving dates. As you always do, please be patient as we prepare for the upcoming move and while we get settled.

We have moved back into the conference room at City Hall. Please bear with us while we finish setting up!
