CASA for Children of Klamath County

CASA for Children of Klamath County We have always known that our Court Appointed Special Advocates make a difference. In many cases, we know that they ARE the difference.

CASA for Children of Klamath County is a non-profit evidence-based program that provides trained volunteer advocates for foster children who have been removed from their home due to abuse or neglect. A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a community volunteer who has received specialized training to advocate for a child’s needs in the child welfare and court systems. In addition to ensuring

the child's voice is heard in court, CASA collaborates with family, agencies, and schools ensuring child safety, child well-being and permanency for foster children. A volunteer’s encouragement can be the difference between a teen dropping out of school and being the first in her family ever to graduate. A volunteer’s patience and belief in a parent can be the difference between the parent giving up and reevaluating priorities. A volunteer’s diligence can be the difference between a child being shuffled from placement to placement and having a place to call “home”. Research shows that a child with a CASA spends less time in foster care, receives more services, and has more success in school.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫?

Some of the most impactful people in a child's life never expected to become a CASA volunteer.

They were teachers, nurses, retirees, parents, business owners, veterans, and community members who simply decided to show up for a child who needed someone in their corner.

You don't have to be a lawyer.

You don't have to be a social worker.

You don't have to have all the answers.

💙 One caring adult can change everything.

A child in foster care may not remember every court hearing, every placement, or every difficult day.

But they'll remember the adult who showed up.

The one who listened.
The one who encouraged them.
The one who reminded them they mattered.

That's what a CASA volunteer does.

Every day, ordinary people in our community are changing children's stories simply by showing up with consistency, compassion, and hope.

🦸 Our next CASA Advocate Training begins August 4.

If you've ever wondered how you could make a lasting difference in the life of a child, we'd love to visit with you.

💙 Every child deserves a hero.

Today, we celebrate the freedoms that unite us and the community that continues to stand up for children who need a voice.

For 35 years, CASA volunteers have been changing children's stories—one child, one advocate, one voice at a time.
As we celebrate America's 250th Birthday, we're grateful to be part of a community that believes every child deserves someone that will fight in their corner.
