Good news! The sound of freedom in our skys again as we host Luke AFB F35s for a couple weeks beginning of June!!!

F-35s from Luke Air Force Base in Arizona will train with the 173rd Fighter Wing at Kingsley Field for two weeks beginning Monday, June 1. The 173rd says the additional aircraft and flights may bring increased aircraft noise to the Klamath Falls area during the training period.

It's that time for our annual Live Fire training. Big thanks to Redmond Fire and Redmond airport for hosting this year. While propane props don't provide the real heat and flowing fuel like a true aircraft emergency would, it still allows us to use our skills, and refine techniques. Any training is good training.

Slow Down-Move Over... Especially in ice! Our Kingsley engine was struck on Hwy 39 while supporting the community on another crash involving black ice. Thankfully no one was injured as our crews were just about to exit the engine to assist with traffic control. The large truck that hit our engine thankfully was able to avoid a direct impact thus avoiding injury to anyone.

Unfortunately there was significant structural components damaged on the body and the cab, Not all is pictured. This is a significant loss to our Base and the local community that we support. Everyone is just extremely grateful that there were no injuries

Please, slow down when you see emergency vehicles, slow down when there's black ice. Put your phone away, be alert!!

Today is Oregon Fire Service Appreciation Day. Today is a chance to recognize and appreciate those that serve your everyday emergency needs. Is also a chance to thank the public for continuing to support and respect those that have committed to serve you.

We do this job not for the glory, but for the satisfaction of helping those in need. For many individuals, there is a passion to help people, and we are grateful for the the opportunity to serve in the fire service.

So thank you, the public, for continuing to support your local fire service, and those of us here at Kingsley Fire!
