UPDATE: YPUD fixed the problem and the water system is back in operation.

A leak caused a water outage in the Weitchpec area. YPUD is working to address the issue as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Water is still out in Old Village. The system at weitchpec has been near empty due to a large leak coupled with debris issues from the storm at our intake Today YPUD cleaned the filters and our intake is in working order and the tank is filling. Tommorow we will restore water to Old village and continue to look for the leak. With as much rain water as we've had it is difficult to find even big leaks. Once water is restored Tommorow we will have to turn water back off once we find the leak.

The Yurok PUD is issuing a Boil Water Notice for the Weitchpec Public Water System due to turbidity from the storm. We are working to address the issue as quickly as possible.

There is a substantial leak on the old village line. PUD has spent the day trying to find this leak. Unfortunately we will need to shut water off to customers in old village in Weitchpec. Please store water for the night. If you have questions please contact me. PUD is working on issues at Weitchpec and Kennek. If you know of other water issues please contact me.

If you would like a paper copy they can be requested at the PUD office in Tulley Creek and Tribal offices in Klamath or Weitchpec.
