➡️ The Town Council held a public hearing on the Proposed Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-2027 Operating Budget. Town Manager Bill Summers recommended the annual budget that will cover July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, per The Local Government Budget & Fiscal Control Act.

❗️Statement from the Town of Knightdale Regarding Recent Media Coverage of Uranium Levels in Drinking Water❗️

The Town of Knightdale is aware of recent media reports regarding elevated uranium levels detected in the Ashley Hills North community. We want to clarify that the affected water system referenced in the report is not part of the Town of Knightdale's municipal water system. According to reports and notifications issued to customers, the Ashley Hills North community is served by a separate private water system operated by Carolina Water Service, even though it has a Knightdale mailing address. The Carolina Water Service is a private entity subject to the authority of the NC Utilities Commission.

Residents and businesses served by the Town of Knightdale's water system should know that their drinking water remains safe. The Town's water and sewer service is supplied by the City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department (https://raleighnc.gov/water).

The issue reported in Ashley Hills North does not affect the Town of Knightdale's municipal water customers. The Town does not own, operate, maintain, or regulate the private water system serving that community.

We understand that reports about drinking water quality can create concern, and we want to reassure our residents that the water delivered through the Town's municipal system continues to meet all applicable state and federal standards for safe drinking water.

Residents seeking information about their water provider are encouraged to review their utility bill or contact their water utility directly. The Town of Knightdale remains committed to providing accurate information and helping residents understand the distinction between private utility systems and the City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department water system.

🚧 LANE CLOSURE ALERT: CAROLINIAN AVENUE AT KNIGHTDALE BOULEVARD 🚧

Atlas Stark will be closing a lane of traffic for an upcoming water line installation. The installation will take place between June 2nd and June 10th. This work will interrupt the westbound right turn lane of Carolinian Ave at the intersection of Carolinian Avenue and Knightdale Boulevard.

Traffic control will be onsite assisting with traffic direction. The lane will only be closed down between 9 am - 3 pm to avoid closures during rush hour. Overnight there will be road plates covering the work area to ensure community safety. We anticipate this being a quick two to three day event with an asphalt patch to finish up.

Drivers are urged to find alternate routes while this work is being done. We apologize for any inconvenience but appreciate your patience and cooperation.
