📢 Hey ! Beginning OCTOBER 1st, several operational updates will take effect:

We're making a few changes to improve service:

📬 The Town Hall payment drop box will no longer be available. You can now use the NEW payment drop box located at the Finance Office at 305 Sugar Magnolia Lane, Suite 105.
⏰ Finance will have new lobby hours in which you can pay your bills in person, from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm.

Hey ! The Town is now accepting applications for the 2026 Community Planning Academy! Learn about the Town's development processes and practices, the vision for future growth, transportation planning, and more!

The academy takes place across three consecutive Tuesday evenings – September 29, October 6, and October 13. Participants must live within Knightdale's corporate limits or the extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ), be at least 18 years of age, and commit to attending all three sessions. SPACE IS LIMITED!

On November 3, 2026, Knightdale residents will have a chance to vote on the Knightdale Parks and Recreation Bond Referendum. This bond would fund a world-class recreation complex with multiple gymnasiums, fitness studios, and multi-generational programming spaces that will impact all Knightdale residents. We encourage everyone to learn more about what’s proposed and make their voices heard.

The Town of Knightdale is committed to providing residents with clear and factual information so you can make an informed decision.

There are several ways you can get more information about the Parks and Recreation Bond Referendum. Hey ! Did you miss the August 19th Town Council Meeting? If so, see the meeting recap.

➡️ Councilor Grady Bussey led the invocation.

➡️ Winners of The Arts & Education Festival Art Contest led the Pledge of Allegiance.

➡️ Mayor Day and the Town Council welcomed the following new employees: Ben Turnmire, Finance Director; Mark Swan, Accounting Manager; and Jordan Brown, Athletic Supervisor.

➡️ Mayor Day administered the Oath of Office for new Police Officers, Andrew Villanueva and Jazzai Gill.

➡️ The Town Council held a public hearing and adopted a resolution (Res. #26-08-19-010) for the purchase of the Lofts building and fire apparatus to issue an installment financing agreement. The estimated total cost is an amount not to exceed $9,495,000.

➡️ The Town Council held a public hearing for a development agreement (Ord. #26-08-19-003) for the Faison Reserve development. A development agreement is a contract between the Town and developer that outlines specific zoning conditions, infrastructure responsibilities, and long-term development schedules. The approved development is an 184-lot residential development to be built on the north side of Old Faison Road. This hearing was continued until the September 16, 2026 Council meeting.

➡️ The Town Council approved revisions to the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance. The North Carolina Department of Public Safety provides regular model ordinance updates to municipalities to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including the National Flood Insurance Program and the Community Rating System from FEMA.

➡️ The Town Council approved a zoning map amendment (ZMA-2-26) for 5845 Farmwell Road, being Wake County PIN 1743-95-2336. The approval rezones approximately ±0.59 acres from General Residential Low-Density (GR3) District to Neighborhood Mixed-Use – Conditional District (NMX-CD) to convert the existing home to a professional office.

➡️ The Town Council held a closed session pursuant to NCGS §143-318.11(3)
