We want to thank everyone that helped last night/this morning with the fire at The Knox City Country club. Everyone one did a great job from providing backup to water for the fire fighters.
Thank you to everyone that came when called:
Knox County Sheriff Office
AEP
Knox City Public Works
Benjamin VFD
Munday VFD
Knox County EMS ( Med 1 & Med 2)
Mrs. Mangna for providing water and ice for us.

To the citizens of Knox City that live around or close to the country club, you may see smoke and smell smoke for a day or two while the building cools off. We have the area tapped off for your safety. Please do not go around or near the building, the building and the area around the building is not safe. Please stay away!

⚠️ TRAFFIC & WATER ADVISORY ⚠️

Emergency crews are currently responding to a structure fire at the Knox City Country Club.

Residents in the surrounding area may experience low water pressure while firefighters work to extinguish the fire. We appreciate your patience as crews use the water system to protect lives and property.

Please avoid the area to allow emergency personnel to work safely and efficiently. Stay clear of the scene and use alternate routes if possible.

We will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.

Thank you for your cooperation and support of our first responders.

🇺🇸 Friendly Reminder: Per Knox City Ordinance 6.03, all fireworks are prohibited within the Knox City city limits.

We know everyone enjoys a good "ooh" and "aah," but let's keep those at the 3rd of July Festival. Speaking from experience,I know we'd rather enjoy a beautiful Big Country sunset than have explain to the police and fire department why someone's mailbox is wearing Roman candles. 😉

Thank you for helping keep Knox City safe and have a happy, safe Independence Day!
