Starke County CASA A child's voice in court. The CASA volunteer is guided by the "best interest" principle when advocating for a child.

This means that the volunteer knows the child well enough to identify the child's needs. The volunteer makes fact-based recommendations to the court about appropriate resources to meet those needs and informs the court of the child's wishes, whether to not those wishes are, in the opinion of the CASA volunteer, in the child's best interest.

There will be another class starting soon so if you are interested in becoming a volunteer for CASA the first step is to fill out an online application. Follow the link below, we will do a background check and an interview then you would begin classes to get an idea of the type of things we, as CASA volunteers see and work with. We want our volunteers to be dedicated, caring and understand that we are here for the best interests of the child. Take a few minutes today and fill out the application. This first step can make a difference to a child in need. Be the person that they need today.

Parents, how would you like a Friday night to yourselves? Sign your kids up for SCYC's Kids Night Out! We will have games, crafts, gym time, face painting, and movies. Pizza will be provided. This event is open to students attending any Starke County school.
