Today was a day that our community will remember for years to come.

On behalf of the Knox Police Department, I would like to extend a sincere **thank you** to everyone who played a role in making today's Big Boy event such a tremendous success.

A special thank you to the **City of Knox Mayors Office, Knox Fire Department, Bass Lake Fire Department, Miami County EMA, Fulton County EMA, Starke County EMA, Starke County Sheriff's Department, Starke County Highway Department, Indiana State Police, Josh with Cops Gear for providing Incident Command, Knox City Water Department, Knox City Street Department, and Knox City Water Treatment Department, City Of Knox Ordinance Office, High Star. ** Your teamwork, professionalism, and dedication ensured the event was safe, organized, and enjoyable for everyone.

The Big Boy 4014 rolled into a city that was well prepared to welcome an estimated **15,000 visitors**—an incredible number for a community with a population of roughly **4,000**. That speaks volumes about what can be accomplished when agencies, volunteers, businesses, and citizens work together.

I'd also like to recognize our local businesses and residents, who once again showed why Knox is such a welcoming community. Your hospitality helped create an unforgettable experience for visitors from near and far.

Finally, I want to personally thank the **officers of the Knox Police Department**. Your professionalism, hard work, and commitment throughout the day were nothing short of outstanding. I couldn't be more proud of the job you did serving our community.

Today was a proud moment for the City of Knox and all of Starke County. Thank you to everyone who helped make this historic event a tremendous success!

The members of the LaPorte County Sheriff's Office and surrounding law enforcement community continue to need the support and prayers of the public following the tragic shooting involving Deputy Jon Samuelson.

This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers law enforcement officers face each day while protecting their communities.

Please continue to keep Deputy Jon Samuelson, his family, fellow deputies, first responders, and all members of the LaPorte County Sheriff's Office in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

We stand with our brothers and sisters in blue and are hoping for strength, healing, and comfort for everyone affected.
