Special thanks to all who helped make this class possible and to Lead Instructor Curt Taylor for presenting the course.

Last night our Swiftwater Rescue students had a special treat during the Night Operations part of our Swiftwater Rescue Level II class.

At around 11:PM EST our students and instructors got to witness the SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket flying overhead as it passed over East Tennessee and the Hiwassee River.

Our TARS Media photographer and Swiftwater Rescue Instructor The Real Benny Braden captured this image which was part of a 15 second long exposure he was taking at the time of the fly over.

Now that’s pretty cool!

Who else got to witness this special event?

Over the weekend the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads Rescue College team traveled to Pendleton South Carolina to teach a Farm Rescue class at Clemson University’s Piedmont Research Center.

There we had a phenomenal facility and amenities to work with the Clemson University Fire & EMS and other local first responders through the various complexities to performing rescues related to accidents involving farm equipment. With weather working in our favor, we were able to stay on schedule and accomplish everything we needed to.

“Failure to train is training to fail.”
