Today, members of our Water Team helped keep kayakers safe as they entered and exited the water during Flotilla.
Despite the rain and muddy water conditions, the event was a great success and the weather certainly didn’t put a damper on the fun!
A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers who gave their time and effort to support this event and help ensure everyone had a safe and enjoyable day on the water. Your commitment to serving our community is greatly appreciated.

Flood Watch in Effect Until 3:00 AM Tuesday, May 26

Heavy rainfall may lead to flooding in low-lying areas, along creeks and streams, and on roadways. Please use extra caution if you must travel overnight.

Remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown!

* Never drive through flooded roadways.
* Be alert for rapidly changing conditions.
* Monitor local weather forecasts and emergency alerts.
* Move to higher ground if flooding develops in your area.

Your safety is the top priority. Stay weather aware and use caution during this period of heavy rain.

A big thank you to Water Captain Matt Willis and Lt. Justin Hines for patrolling Fort Loudoun Lake today.

During busy holidays and weekends, Knox County Rescue conducts proactive water patrols to help keep boaters, swimmers, and all visitors to our waterways safe. Having our rescue boat already on the water allows us to respond more quickly if an emergency arises, reducing dispatch and response times when every second counts.

We appreciate Matt and Justin dedicating their holiday to serving our community and helping make Fort Loudoun Lake a safer place for everyone to enjoy.

Thank you for your commitment and service!
