The Norris Fire Department would like to commend Thomas Anderson and Tyler Keck for their outstanding dedication and perseverance in completing the Emergency Medical Responder course, which took place from February to May of this year. Throughout the duration of the course, these individuals demonstrated remarkable commitment, balancing their day jobs, family responsibilities, and academic obligations, attending classes every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6 PM to 10 PM, while also completing 12-hour clinical training shifts. Thomas Anderson has exhibited a strong enthusiasm for pursuing a career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Notably, Tyler Keck was involved in a remarkable incident where he and his crew responded to a call involving a woman in labor on I-75. Despite heavy traffic, the ambulance team quickly reached the mother-to-be and transported her to the University of Tennessee Hospital. Unbeknownst to them, the baby was about to arrive, and Tyler and his partner safely delivered the newborn in the ambulance shortly before arriving at the hospital. Both the mother and baby are doing well, and Tyler received the Stork award for his role in the successful delivery.
