Earlier this week, we got to recognize Lois L. from Mrs. Christian's 3rd Grade class. Lois was recognized by the National Math Stars for her performance on the ISASP Math Assessment taken this Spring. Lois scored in the top 2% of all students who took the exam. Congratulations Lois!

Recently, Pella Windows and Doors and Mark Zuck, worked together to donate a GaGa Ball Pit for our students to use during recess! It has been a MASSIVE hit with our students, bringing in large crowds day after day! Mrs. Dee Bristol Huyck has been taking each class outside during their PE class to teach them the rules and strategy of the game! Thanks so much for Pella Corp., Mark, and Mrs. Huyck for bringing this the Northstar!

Today was day one of Seed Survivor at Northstar! Students were led through a lesson about what plants need to grow and how agriculture benefits our local and national economy. Students then had the chance to participate in more learning activities centered around agriculture. At the last station, students were able to start their own mammoth sunflower!

We survived the week and wish everyone Happy Holidays and enjoy family time together.

Before we left on break…. The Evil Twin sabotaged our school-wide goal. He must have stealthy ninja-elf like powers and he thinks he’s funny. He gave every classroom a small little 🍿 box with a mustache on it.

We will be ready for him the next time he tries to stop our fun at Northstar. 🥸

Today, 3rd graders in Mrs. Christian's class were doing an activity around the bones in your hand. They used olive oil to make their drawing of the bones in the hand look like an x-ray when held up to the light.
