This isn’t exactly a postmortem. There are no dead bodies. 😊 I had not planned to comment on my election 🗳, other than, “Thank you!” However, I can’t resist commenting about today’s Knoxville News-Sentinel ✍️ writing (two days after the fact) It’s clear to me that the writers of this piece had taken zero time paying attention to my campaign. First, anyone that remotely paid attention, knows that my #1 issue was, “public safety.” Also, I did not, “used to film, “One on One with Hubert Smith.” I’ve never stopped. Yes, I did campaign, “on transit issues,” sort of. I stressed my support but I never highlighted any particular transit issues. This is the worst half-ass cut ‘n paste job that I’ve seen in a long while. If this is journalism then I’m, Edward R. Murrow. Although, I should be thankful that I received more coverage in defeat, than when my campaign was active! I do thank you you 1,132 voters that voted for me. I will continue doing what’s made me, me. 😊

Public safety has been my #1 issue throughout my campaign. I am the only candidate for at-Large Seat C that has even talked about public safety in a positive manner. I’ve done more than talk. I announced a proposal to help with retention within our police 👮‍♀️ department, which was published in KnoxTnToday.com on August 8, 2019. I support our police 🚔 and our 👩‍🚒 firefighters. I can do more on city council. I need your votes and your family’s votes 🗳.

A friend persuaded me to post this article. Some already know this story. Some may not. I was reluctant, but I decided to do so because it does show my self determination, and the same determination that I will bring to Knoxville City Council. I will bring the same work ethic that I’m currently applying to my recovery to city council, while working for you.

I’m keeping my eye 👁 on the prize, which is Election Day, Tuesday, August 27th. For Knoxvillians that have not voted 🗳. I ask you to consider these factors when deciding for whom to vote for Knoxville City Council at-Large Seat C: (1) body of work; (2) my vision for the city; (3) entire city knowledge; (4) my priorities; (5) my character.
