We're so grateful for Michael Kelley and his commitment to Emerald Academy scholars and faculty. Congrats, Michael, on this worthy honor! 💚

Please join us in congratulating our 2025-2026 Charter Champion Advocate of the Year, Emerald Academy's Michael Kelley!

Michael has provided legal counsel to Emerald Academy since its inception while becoming deeply involved in the life of the school. Beyond his work as an attorney in Knoxville, he volunteers daily with a 4th grade book club and stepped in as head coach of the varsity basketball team, never missing a practice or game. School leaders say he models the school’s core values, demonstrates exceptional leadership, and loves scholars well. We are grateful for the many ways Michael advocates for and invests in Emerald Academy’s students, families and school community. Congratulations, Michael and thank you for all you do!

Director Weeks put her teaching hat back on for the day, and honestly... She’s still got it. 🍎 She joined one of the classrooms to teach alongside our teachers and spend time with our scholars. Leadership looks best in the classroom!

A cool experience for Emerald Academy 3rd graders recently – they joined tens of thousands of students from across the country (and around the world!) for a special “mock trial” virtual event to celebrate Constitution Day!
