Last week, we kicked off our Summer Movie Series with Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Tonight, we're keeping the summer vibes going with s'more summer movies.

S'more what? (Sigh.) You know what? Just come check out tonight's movie, The Sandlot!

Are you planning to be out and about tomorrow? The Kodiak Public Library invites you to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy it next to the library.

If you can't make it tomorrow, we invite you to stop by for lunch any Wednesday throughout the summer! Plan to meet up with friends or family, and bring a snack or a full spread—it's all up to you.

We are gearing up for a lot of Saturday activities!

In the morning, starting at 10:30 AM, we'll have Spanish Storytime for our families to enjoy.

Starting at 1 PM, it's the STEAM Team! Want to create a simple pinwheel? Try your hand at making a wind turbine? Feel like experimenting with different materials and blade shapes? We have been working with PLIX to bring you this program and help you explore the answers to those questions and more!

Want to learn more about the PLIX program and how our Youth Services Specialist has been working with a team from MIT and staff members from other libraries? Check them out at plix.mit.edu/about.

At 3 PM, it's our Cookbook Club. The theme this month is Filipino food. Try a recipe, bring it over, and share how it went! Even if you don't have a chance to prepare a dish but want to learn more about Cookbook Club, stop on in!

Did you miss the kickoff for the Summer Reading Challenge? No worries! If you have any questions about participating, our staff will be available all day to help.

So, as you're mapping out your Saturday and enjoying what is hopefully still a sunny Kodiak day, we hope to be a part of your adventure!

We're starting off the summer at the library with a Shelfie Star who loves our Summer Reading Challenge! Say hello to Oliver!

It will probably not surprise too many people that Oliver loves to read. When selecting some of his favorite books, he faced the added challenge of choosing specific titles from beloved series! But of all the series to check out, he hopes you'll make time for Eragon.
