Location: Mill Bay Road

The Department will be conducting road painting operations on Mill Bay Road, starting on the north end, on Thursday through Friday, June 4–5, 2026.

Flaggers will be on-site directing traffic, and motorists should expect minor delays while work is underway.

Time: 9:30 a.m. -5:00 p.m.

Location: 2949 Spruce Cape Road

The City of Kodiak Public Works Department will be addressing a Water Leak on Spruce Cape Road on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Public Works Department will be repairing a water service break along the above section of Spruce Cape Road. During this time, a section of Spruce Cape Road will be closed to one lane, through traffic, and all vehicles must be removed from the affected area before the one lane closure.

Please be advised that the roadway will be closed down to one lane from 9:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. to repair a water service break. This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of the public and to allow crews to assess and complete critical repairs.

Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes and exercise caution in the surrounding area. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Water service in the area may be intermittent while repairs are being made.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Please be advised that a new pedestrian crosswalk system has been installed in front of Safeway.

The crosswalk is equipped with a pedestrian-activated push-button system. When activated, flashing warning lights on both crosswalk signs will illuminate to notify approaching motorists that pedestrians are crossing.

Motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling through the area and to yield to pedestrians when the warning lights are flashing.

Pedestrians are encouraged to utilize the push-button system before entering the crosswalk to improve visibility and enhance public safety.
