Good afternoon Kodiak. We have up to a foot of snow in the forecast later this week. Please be ready to remove snow from your vessels as it starts piling up. Harbor staff will be working hard to keep the floats clear and maintain access for owners. We will continue making notifications as necessary throughout the week. May the odds be ever in your favor.

WEATHER EVENT UPDATED

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM AKST MONDAY...

* WHAT...Snow and Blowing Snow. Additional snow accumulations up to
5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Kodiak Island Northeast.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM AKST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Moderate to heavy
snowfall rates and areas of blowing snow could reduce visibility
to one half mile or less.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Periods of convective snow showers will
continue through Monday morning, tapering off by Monday afternoon.
Visibility could quickly be reduced during heavier snow showers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling. For the latest road
conditions call 5 1 1 or visit 511.alaska.gov.

Description
* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

* WHERE...Kodiak Island Northeast.

* WHEN...From 3 PM this afternoon to 3 PM AKST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities reduced to one half mile or less due to blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong northerly winds will develop and allow for colder temperatures to work into Kodiak Island. In addition, a compact low will move towards the island from the northeast later today with snow spreading over the northern side of the island this afternoon and continuing through Sunday afternoon.
