Capt. Hall presents a Special Act award to CGFD crew.

Base Kodiak Commander Captain Hall presented A/C Callahan, Capt. Dingus, Medic Sellers, and Firefighter Davis with a Special Act award for their response to a devastating motorcycle accident involving a fellow Coast Guardsman earlier this summer. Their professionalism, dedication, and direct action saved the life of their fellow service member and I am beyond proud of them! Bravo Zulu for a job well done team! -Fire Chief Griffin

LCDR Kalmbacher departed Kodiak last week, as Assistant Facility Engineer he was the direct conduit to command for our fire dept. For several years Kirk was a strong voice of advocacy, both for resources and extraordinary measures towards meeting our emergency staffing needs! Thank you for your dedication, you will be missed and we wish you the best in your new post in Louisville!

We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Quincy Dingus and Danial Moore on their promotions to Captain and Medic. A joint ceremony was chosen to commemorate this achievement. Throughout their careers, both men have exemplified the values that our fire service holds in high esteem, including their selfless dedication to the mission. Bravo Zulu for a job well done!

USCG Fire and Rescue Base Kodiak had visitors over the weekend who wanted to learn about firefighters! Firefighter Sam Ryan and Firefighter Kellie Estes were more than excited to teach!
