Jeff Simon was a longtime firefighter with the Kohler Fire Department and formerly the president of our business unit. In an era where volunteerism and community service is not as common as it once was, Jeff was a persistent presence at every brat fry, 4th of July, and every other KFD event for many years. As a firefighter, he responded to emergencies in our village for several decades before only recently retiring from active service as our Safety Officer. Jeff Simon’s leadership and selfless contributions to our community will be greatly and sincerely missed by our department.
Jeffrey S. Simon, age 68, of Kohler passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
He was born in Green Bay, WI on July 31, 1958, to the late Gerald and Bernice (Johnson) Simon. He graduated from Sacred Heart Center in Oneida, WI and went on to further his education, earning technical certificates from LTC and receiving his bachelors degree in business from Lakeland University. On April 26, 1986, Jeff was united in marriage to Sara Hill in Merrill, WI. Jeff was employed at Kohler Company for over 40 years, retiring in 2024. He was a long-time member of the Kohler Police Athletic League and the Kohler Fire Department.
Jeff was a lifelong sports fan, with finding particular enjoyment in supporting the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. For many years, he and his family sold programs at Lambeau Field and County Stadium. Jeff also enjoyed attending live theatre, taking train trips and spending time with those he loved.
