The Good Samaritan Project is looking for volunteers to assist with a variety of needs for the Veteran's History Project. Forgive the short runway on this but they are looking for commitments by October 20th to allow time for training before the 11/1 event.
Volunteer needs include:
-Interviewers
-Video recorders
-Volunteers to welcome veterans and families, assist with registration, and guide participants through the recording process.
-They are also seeking RVs or travel trailers to serve as private recording studios
Scouts may also help invite veterans in their families and communities to share their stories. Families wishing to honor a veteran who has died are welcome to contact us about sharing that person’s memories.
Scouts aged 12+ and Leaders who are interested will receive appropriate training.
The Good Samaritan Project's commitment to veterans continues beyond recording day. They provide special care packages for homebound veterans, holds Holiday Heroes activities, decorates veterans’ cemeteries at Christmas, and supports other veteran-led initiatives.
Every veteran has a story. Every story is a piece of American history.
