Thank you all who came out with us to mourn and honor the lives of the martyrs. Israel has cut short the beautiful lives of so many people. We stand to bring justice to those responsible and hold accountable those complicit in genocide.

Tonight we were blessed by the attendance of several community members. Thank you all for your bravery and courage. We cannot do what we do without you.

We honored all martyrs from Palestine, Syria, Yemen, and Lebanon tonight but gave special focus to a few whose story we wanted to share.

Islam Hijazy, Gaza program manager for HEAL Palestine and a mother of two small children. Known for her selfless humanitarian work and refusal to leave Gaza.

Medo Halimy, known for documenting the genocide on Instagram. Sharing his daily life and showing how people survive in Gaza.

Wafa al-Udaini and her family, a journalist known for uplifting everyday Palestinian voices. She was killed in Deir Al-Balah in an airstrike along with her children and husband.

Amal and Ayloul Salem, two young girls who were martyred alongside 140 members of their family by an Israeli airstrike.

Rabab Marouni, Zeinab Marouni, and Zainab Hamdan. Rabab and Zeinab were sisters teaching at a middle school in Southern Lebanon. Their cousin Zainab was also a teacher at an evangelical school. All three were killed in Israel's bombing of southern Lebanon.

Martyrs are not numbers to count. They are lives we must mourn and honor. We will never forget their sacrifice.

Aaron Bushnell, may he rest in peace, lost his life in an act of protest on behalf of the Palestinian people. On February 25, 2024, Aaron self-immolated in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington DC. He was an active duty member of the US Air Force, and was wearing his fatigues when he lit himself on fire. We are deeply saddened to hear of his passing and deeply moved that he gave up his life to draw attention to the genocide that is being waged against the Palestinian people. We hope you will join us in mourning the loss of both his life and those killed in Palestine - and we hope that you will fight for a free Palestine, for Aaron.
